Many who work in the upper crest of IT are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel and are getting there, but it is a slow go. Still in implementation there are going to be issues with sub-system incompatibility and the patchwork, which opens doors to sneaky bad guys and adds hundreds if not thousands of additional human risks to the equation too. All that aside protecting our IT Network from hackers is going to be a key and virtual back ups are a place to hide the data and throw away the keys to entry.
file conversion services

We are bombarded with external tasks and distractions that draw our attention away from our own mental and physical state. More often than not, our work requires an outward focusing of attention on specific tasks, projects and co-workers. Our leisure time, too, is frequently spent on activities like driving, shopping, and watching TV – all of which tend to pull our attention away from ourselves.

As Nicholas Brockbank, a British Alexander Technique teacher, puts it: ?Most peoples’ attention most of the time is anywhere but on what they’re doing. Or if it is on what they’re doing, they tend to overdo it. In an average day, filled with average tasks, there is only a small portion that requires the mind to be fully engaged; the rest of the time we are free to think about the past or the future – anything but the present! When we are “present”, it’s usually in an obsessive, almost trance like way.?

On Pala, the mynah birds are whimsical devices to help bring people back to the present moment – which is really the only place we can make constructive changes in our lives.

Many spiritual teachers have stressed the importance of self-awareness – Ram Dass even titled one of his books Be Here Now! The Alexander Technique is a very powerful and practical method to learn to be present in yourself, even while engaged in your daily activities.
subscriptions magazine

Internet Marketing For Small Business- Want Further Information by Scott Dennison
in Business / Small Business (submitted 2010-09-02)

To mention that internet marketing for small business must start along with your strategy is probably for the side of ‘obvious’ to many of my readers. But what I mean when I discuss marketing strategy often leads to questions. Sometimes a bunch of them.

One recent writer asked me if I would disclose my very own internet marketing for small business strategy, explain each piece and tell you why I take advantage of it. So Dave, I’m going to try to give a fair answer for a matter today.

First, I should mention that I’ve done extensive market research, which has keywords, domain names, blogs forums and even articles on topics associated with small business marketing. There’s no doubt that its safe to mention if you wish to successfully market your small business on the Internet, you MUST start here.

Fortunately its not hard to try and do, I even posted a video on market research, which you’ll still watch on my YouTube Channel. Just know that there are obvious keywords that people trying to find what you do/sell would be using to discover the things they want to buy. If they search those terms and your site is not up to the mark (or optimized) for all those keywords, they won’t find you.

It won’t matter a tad if you are best at, cheaper than or any of them things; If I can’t find you in my search, you must not exist.

To complete your individual keyword research, just use the free Google keyword tool, which you will find here.

With research in hand, I chose as my strategy, inbound marketing, built on expert positioning/status. I’ve got years of experience in working with small companies, but when the market place is as loud as the Casbah in Morocco, with everyone shouting to your attention, even proven results sometimes aren’t enough to find through the noise.

Expert positioning is made on providing value to your market, usually in the shape of free information, and nearly always for free. So on a week-in-and-week-out basis, I will add to the blog as my core marketing strategy. Then on a regular, but not as frequent basis I also:

* Write articles (or use professional writers), which are distributed through a service I use that makes it very easy and fast
small business seo

They paid cash for what they purchased or did without. I remember that my mother would start Christmas shopping a few months ahead of time and put things in layaway. She could pay a little at a time and when Christmas arrived she had the items paid for. Without a credit card bill to deal with for the rest of the year.

One of the top keys to saving on your holiday shopping is to plan ahead. When it comes to decor, you often have to think of it the year before. Most retailers offer large sales after a holiday is over. You can often find Christmas trees at a fraction of the cost, holiday decor is quite inexpensive and Halloween costumes for next year.

You can even use these sales to shop for gifts for next year. Stock up on cheap ornaments to use as decor and gift tags. Buy knick knacks and holiday items for office gifts.

When it comes to the holidays, often the gift giving is the most expensive aspect.
credit card debt

Get a report from each of the three credit reporting companies (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion), because they each can contain different information. Take your score with you when you apply so that the lender knows that you are aware of your credit situation. If you’ve applied for a lot of loans in the past, you may have encountered the occasional lender that likes to say you have marginal scores, when in fact they are perfect. This is simply to get you to pay a higher interest rate on your loan.

There are many other signs that you are ready that are more personal, such as the longing for a place of your own. We all find that our timing for making the move is different. Some of us buy as soon as possible and for some, it is best to remain a renter.

Sheepdog that befriended its flock finally takes top prize

0 Comments | Herald, The; Glasgow (UK), Sep 3, 2010

A HOPELESS sheepdog that failed to make the grade after kissing sheep instead of rounding them up has been crowned one of the top dogs in Scotland.

Two-year-old border collie Ben was bred to herd sheep, but was more interested in befriending the farm animals.

Useless on the farm, gentle Ben was given away to become a family pet.

Now, just months later, he and his new owner Claire Oats, 35, have won a national competition for working dogs.

The Associated Sheep, Police and Army Dog Society (ASPADS) Working Trials, held in Dundee, challenges dogs in tasks including searching for evidence, scaling high walls and leaping over burns, and obedience work.

Ms Oats, who runs a dog training school from her home in Banknock, Stirlingshire, said yesterday that winning the competition proved there was life for dogs rejected for work.

The pair were awarded a record 99 points from a possible 100 – dropping the single point only when Ms Oats stood in the wrong position in one of the disciplines.

She said: “I got Ben from a farm near Falkirk, where he didn’t have any life and was just tied up in a barn.

“He had no interest in sheep at all and was just too gentle to be any use on the farm. They didn’t know what to do with him so I took him home.

“I took Ben to a professional sheepdog trainer to see if she could make a difference – but he wanted to kiss her sheep. He just ambled up to one, gently sniffed its face and licked its nose. I knew then that he’d never work with sheep.

“But all former working dogs are clever and they need activities to keep them stimulated, so I taught him a few things and we entered the ASPADS competition.

“Most dogs that enter have been training for 18 months with the police or army, but we did just three weeks
dog obedience school training

… YouTube received funding from Sequoia Capital in November 2005 and the service was officially launched in December 2005. Chad Hurley and Steve Chen (two of the three original founders) proceeded to become the first members of the YouTube management team and currently serve as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer respectively. When more companies are taken over, integration will become the enabling factor for future growth. Internal competition is a continuous threat. (This is not different for countries that absorb immigrants to facilitate growth)

In the meanwhile we read: ?YouTube will stay independent, really! – The video site will keep its identity after its $1.65 billion sale to Google is complete, its CEO insists, but ‘a lot [needs] to be figured out.’ ?
